About Us
CHAP (Christian Haitian American Partnership) is a South Carolina
Eleemosynary Corporation, formed in 2004, and granted tax exempt
status by the IRS the same year, as a 501(c)3 entity. Our mission
is to improve the quality of life for the people in Haiti. We have three primary areas of focus:
- Children's Nutrition. A program called "Lespwa
Timoun" serves severely malnourished children
- Children's Education, A scholarship program
provides support for four schools operated by the
Episcopal Church. It permits 550 impoverished children
to attend class. Construction of a new school in the
mountain village of Crochu is well underway.
- Medical and Dental Care. We send teams of physicians, dentists, optometrists
and volunteers with donated medications, to conduct medical/dental
clinics in the countryside. We are centered in the Myrtle Beach area
of South Carolina, but we receive support from all over the United
States, and send teams to Haiti, not only from the Myrtle Beach area,
but also from North Carolina, Arkansas, Michigan, Missouri, Ohio, Arizona, and Washington State.
